My grandfather,
Jón B. Ágústsson
The postcards in this collection were given to me by my grandmother, Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir, which inherited them when my grandfather, Jón Bekk Ágústsson died a few years ago. Most of them were sent between the years of 1903 and 1933 by relatives on his side of my family. There are about 100 Icelandic postcards in the collection, and many more from Europe, mainly Great Britain and Scotland.

My grandmother,
Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir
I had kept the postcards for quite a while before I got the idea of scanning them and publishing them on the Web. My interest in the pictures is mainly because of their historic value, but I realise that they must also be of interest to postcard/stamp collectors.

In the future I hope to scan the rest of the images and add them to the site.
